Aviva's earliest history in Liverpool is closely linked to insurance against fire.
Sadly the archive has very little to show for a link with Bolton which goes back at least to 1816.
The earliest reference to Aviva companies operating in the Potteries dates from 1814 when Norwich Union Fire had an agent at Hanley.
Our first known Chester agent was J Lewis who was representing Norwich Union Life by 1818.
Information on Bangor in the archive is scarce. Our earliest agent was Archibald Worthington who represented Norwich Union Life in 1818 and also covered Port Penrhyn.

Aviva companies have been operating in Swansea for nearly 200 years. Our earliest known agent, W Stroud, was representing Norwich Union Life by 1818 and the family link continued under G T Stroud who was listed as an agent in 1868.

Aviva's history in Worcester centres around the Norwich Union fire engine which operated there until at least 1928.
We know that Norwich Union Fire was operating in Cheltenham by 1816 and that Norwich Union Life's Cheltenham agent in 1818 was F Rawlings.
