Aviva companies have been operating in Swansea for nearly 200 years. Our earliest known agent, W Stroud, was representing Norwich Union Life by 1818 and the family link continued under G T Stroud who was listed as an agent in 1868.
The phrase above was used on the stationary of our Cardiff based constituent company, Welsh Insurance Corporation, which also featured Y Draig Goch himself.

Aviva's history in Worcester centres around the Norwich Union fire engine which operated there until at least 1928.
We know that Norwich Union Fire was operating in Cheltenham by 1816 and that Norwich Union Life's Cheltenham agent in 1818 was F Rawlings.
Aviva companies have been operating in Bristol for over 200 years. In 1810 Norwich Union Life appointed Frederick Savery as agent and by 1817 his address was All Saints passage, Corn Street.
The earliest reference to Taunton in the archive is 1818 when Henry James Leigh was acting agent for Norwich Union Life.
Aviva's presence in Exeter can be traced back to 1807 with the establishment of the local firm, West of England Fire Insurance Company.

Our journey following the Olympic Flame starts in Cornwall where Aviva group companies have been operating for over 200 years.
The earliest archive reference to Aviva companies operating in Plymouth dates back almost 200 years to 1813 at which point W Davie junior and W Courtis were representing the West of England Fire Insurance Company.
